Need e-publishing software advice

I'm almost ready to market an ebook. It's currently a .doc/.pdf, about
100 pages. What is the simplest, most automated way to get this on the
market and password-protect it? Can somebody give me a recommendation?
This is a simple operation, I don't need some huge elaborate software
package, nor do I have time to sit and send hundreds of passwords via
email. I'd appreciate a pointer! Please reply here on the newsgroup.

Bob, I suggest you do not password protect, what I do instead
is disable "permissions" for copying text and graphics when
publishing PDF documents.

But they could still distribute copies of the whole file, couldn't
they?
