I just purchased an ebook in PDF format, thinking i could read it on my
Sony CLIE using adobe reader for palm, but when i try to add it using
the mentioned program I get an error stating " this document has not
been encrypted using standard security handler and therefore cannot be
opened" is there any work around? I'm digging through Adobe website
now, but thought maybe someone here might have an answer.

Replying to myself and maybe helping someone else.

I found the way to do it using reader 6 on the computer:
1 open the file on the computer
2 click ebooks then my bookshelf
3 chose file and click send to mobile device
4 hotsync
5 take palm device to mountain top and read it in seclusion

Thank you for the info. It helped me greatly. Boy was I getting
frustrated at trying to figure out how to get the e-book to load.
I had to modify your directions to get it to work for me because I was
getting hung up on your step 3. When I clicked in send to mobile device I
got an error that the file was being used and to close it to continue.
Well, closing it closed down the bookself too!! What a loop. :) I finally
figured out a way around this problem. In an effort to continue your
great work I am listing the directions I had to follow for my Palm
Tungsten T3

1. Make a copy of the e-book and give it a new name (something as simple
as changing Dragon.pdf to Dragon2.pdf) and put it in the "My Library"
folder (it may be that any folder will work other than the my library
folder, I don't know, but the my library folder was the one I used.
3. Open the e-book from the "My Library" folder
4. click ebooks then my bookshelf
5. chose file and click send to mobile device
6. The program begins preparing the e-book for the mobile device. Once it
is done it tells you that it will load on the next hotsync.
7. hotsync
NOTE: The hotsync hung up on syncing AcroPilot.prc, but eventualy (less
than 3 minutes) continued on with the rest of the sync.
8. take palm device to mountain top and read it in seclusion (good
suggestion)
9. To scroll through the e-book pages in adobe reader, with the least
amount of frustration, just tap the down arrow on the right scroll bar.

Thanks again Unkle Megs for getting me started on the right track.
